Karine Ponties is an author of more than thirty stage projects with unmistakable poetic style. Thanks to them, she belongs among the most renowned European choreographers in the field of dance and physical theatre. She is originally from France, but she lives in Belgium. She studied dance in Barcelona and later graduated from the famous school École Mudra run by Maurice Béjart. Before she started her own ensemble Dame de Pic in 1996, she worked as a dancer and performer in leading European ensembles (for example in Mossoux-Bonté). Several of her works, such as Brutalis (2002), Holeulone (2006), Mi non sabir (2004) and others, were also presented in the Czech Republic thanks to Tanec Praha.
